Version:           0.7.1 (using KDE 3.1.3)
Installed from:    Mandrake Linux Cooker i586 - Cooker
Compiler:          gcc version 3.3.1 (Mandrake Linux 9.2 3.3.1-2mdk)
OS:          Linux (i686) release 2.4.22-21mdk

When using Kopete as MSN/Jabber and IRC cliente I sometimes
need to hide the chat window (I use a single chat window with
tabs in it a-la-xchat style). Currently I use the CTRL+w (or
ESC) key to close the window, but then I lose the conversation
contents. 

 It would be interesing adding an option so that when you reopen
a previously closed window you continue having the conversation
content like before you closed it. That way I could have an IRC
channel openned and close it whenever I want, opening it later
without having to use the WindowManager's Minimize key (and thus
not displaying it in the taskbar :)

 In addition to this, a Clear Window Content (CTRL+L?) option 
would be interesing...

The history plugin can do that for single chat. It can remember the last messa	ge and show it in the chatwindow when you open it.

Anyway, this will not work for IRC since you leave the channel, so no new messages are received.

As an addendum

You can clear the window content with /clear. Type /help for other usefull commands.
