I just recompiled my whole system, along with newer qt (now 3.2.3) and latest stable gcc (3.3.2). The very same bug still exists, with the same files, it just has changed from "bang" to "scratch".. Could someone please take a look of this? This has been around for ages. I get the same problem. After some investigation, it appears that what you're hearing is actually the album art in the MP3. xmms and others recongnize this isn't the MP3 part, but some meta-data and skip it. arts doesn't seem to do this. I'm not familiar enough to look at the MP3 component to figure out how to correctly skip it. I can confirm this behavior. I imported a bunch of mp3's with album cover art, and any arts using programs give me a short squealing sound at the beginning of each track. If I strip the ID3 tags form the mp3 files and retag them, the mp3s play correctly. *** Bug 78746 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Bug is mpeglib-specific, and doesnt happen with the akodelib-plugin in KDE 3.3 I've found that in most of case this bug appens when the cover picture include in the tags is in the png format. Cyril. Upgrade to akode from KDE 3.3 |
