That option is disabled for me in Konqueror. Now that we have caret mode, search from cursor could and should be implemented. I once tried, but it didn't work then. As I'm apparently not the only one missing this, I'll try again. Actually; when you set the cursor (which is indeed less then obvious) the checkbox is enabled in 3.5.
Easiest way is to select a little bit of text.
Seems the bug is fixed, only a usable way to set the cursor and give feedback is missing. But thats off topic for this report, this bug can be closed.
