Description gary ng 2003-06-26 11:02:34 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.1.2)
Installed from: Debian stable Packages
OS: Linux

I can see Chinese web pages under konqueror(both big5 and gb2310) but when I tried to print it, I only got either blank pages(not even the header url stuff which is english) or 'squares' in place of those chinese characters. I also tried the same in kprint and the result is the same.

Is it because the printing mechanism is different from viewing? I am running XFree86 4.3 which now shipped with standard fonts that can be used to display both encoding of Chinese.

I also tried printing the same page under Mozilla 1.3 and all those Chinese came out as they should be(though the size is wrong which is another issue).

as long as it's not clear what's causing the problem I consider broken printing important
