Monitors are usually wider than taller, so in web browsers most people finds better having the "tabs" toolbar in the left of the browser (vertically) instead of having it horizontally (you can only have about 6-7 tabs this way!).

 Under Opera or Galeon you're able to change the tabs bar position and orientation so that you can put it in the left of the screen. Could be that possible with Konqueror ???
