I can confirm this issue on 25.12.2 Flatpak on Pop!_OS. As a workaround use Enter to close the shape. Tried to use Enter to close the shape, but all that does is open a popup menu that says “Play, Go To, etc.” and doesn’t close the shape, pressed escape and menu went away, tried again and menu popped up. Like the Enter command was connected to the Right click on the mouse. All was fine in version 25.12.1. I can confirm this issue on 25.12.2 AppImage on GNU/Debian with Xorg. Right click opens the contextual menu, and using the Enter key does not work.
