Current behavior:  
- "Save As" correctly saves project in desired folder.  
- Render/Export dialog always defaults to home directory (~/) regardless of project location 

Expected behavior:  
Kdenlive should default render output to the active project's directory for faster workflow and better organization.  
Optional: Add "Render to project folder" checkbox in Project Defaults.  

Benefits:  
- Consistent with other NLEs (e.g. DaVinci Resolve).  
- Fewer clicks, organized files.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open a Kdenlive project.
2. Save project via File > Save As in the same folder as before.
3. Go to Render/Export dialog.
4. Observe: Output folder defaults to home directory (~/) instead of project folder.

I couldn't reproduce the behavior specified in the report.

My default output from Render is ~/Videos even though the clip I chose was in ~/Downloads

So the logic you're wanting is to an "Optional: Add "Render to project folder" checkbox in Project Defaults."
Where is 'Project Defaults' ?

You can find Project Defaults directly under Misc in:
Configure - Kdenlive
Project Defaults
Project folder:
Default or Parent folder of projet file or Custom project folder
