Description Jo 2025-12-04 19:49:09 UTC
SUMMARY
Easy way to watch / stop video clip previews.
Just click anywhere on a video, instead to add ui buttons in a remote corner.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Select a folder with movie clips in the in tree view
2. Double click a movie thumb to start a movie clip
3. Click anywhere on the video clip to play or pause - doesn't work

OBSERVED RESULT
Clicking anywhere on a video clip doesn't pause or play it. Pause / play is a separate button in the top left corner of the running movie clip window.

EXPECTED RESULT
play/pause button should be a layer on top of every movie clip.

We have a toolbar above the video widget with play/pause, etc.

Since a single click is also possible to start an image preview/video and return to the icon view, a play/pause button directly over the video is not possible. I personally use a single click for the preview; this behavior is inherited from the desktop (here, KF6 with single click enabled).
Even VLC doesn't use a play/pause over the video.
