STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Click Recording -> Full Screen
2. Click to select the current screen (see Bug 510983)
3. Record a 2-minute office like screencast (e.g. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=169029#c1)

OBSERVED RESULT
Spectacle freezes

EXPECTED RESULT
There seems to be enough CPU and GPU power to encode live?

I can't reproduce this  in Plasma 6.5 on weaker graphical hardware (Radeon 780M) with a 2880x1800 screen at 175% scale. I went for five minutes and it worked out fine.

That said, if we can do live encoding of the video so any arbitrary length isn't a problem, that would be ideal.
