Taskbar bug

SUMMARY
After opening System Settings or certain other applications, their icons appear in the taskbar as expected. However, when I close them, a blank space remains in the taskbar (see attachment). The space only disappears after hovering over it with the mouse or opening the app launcher. This issue occurs both with and without a custom theme. I am using Fedora with Wayland.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open system settings
2. Close system settings
3. Observe whether a blank space appears on the taskbar before hovering over it

OBSERVED RESULT
Blank space persists in the taskbar until the mouse hovers over it or the app launcher is opened.

EXPECTED RESULT
The blank space should disappear immediately after the application is closed.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Fedora, Wayland
KDE Plasma Version: 6.4.2
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.16.0
Qt Version: 6.9.1

Two users reported this so moving to confirmed.

Here is the old bug ticket for this which was supposed to be fixed in 6.3.4 https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=499914

That's not the same issue. This one is unfortunately an NVIDIA GPU driver issue — assuming you have an NVIDIA GPU, which is an assumption I'm making because 100% of prior reports of it were from people with NVIDIA GPUs as well.
