New label in Nothing theme

The "New" label for newly installed applications should have a solid green colour instead of depending on the background for it, at least that's what I thought it'd be at first.
First screenshot is with Nothing theme, second is with Breeze-Dark.

Thanks for filing this bug report. The "new" banner has been improved in the development build, and I can see it in git-master. I'm attaching a screenshot of what it looks like with Breeze Dark in Application Launcher.

I don't know if this will be included in 6.4.3, but it will be by 6.5.0.

Can't they backport it?

It's possible it could be backported, but I can't promise it will. Decisions about backporting are made based on the severity of a bug (data loss or widespread crashes would be critical, for instance), if there are workarounds, how disruptive a bug is, and such.

Given that this is only a visual defect, and only seen after installing new software, it's lower down the criticality scale. The 6.5.0 release is currently planned for October, and should reach your system when it updates to that version.

The dark green color you’re seeing in Breeze Dark is the final version. If the theme uses a dark positive background then that’s that.

Is the fix really present in 6.5? Because in 6.5.2, I still see the same old banner.

On Fedora 43 and on git-master, with the Breeze Dark theme, I see the same dark green background on a new app as seen in the attachment "In Breeze-Dark theme". From what Kai is saying, this is the intended behavior, and that the dark green color is what Breeze Dark decided on.

With that said, the banner is really difficult to distinguish in most of the dark themes I tried. Using Breeze Dark, I didn't even notice the banner at first because it visually melded into Qalculate's icon. Surely, something can be done to make the contrast better.
