SUMMARY

Filter sidebar shows 0 Unconfirmed faces on a People view which shows Unconfirmed faces. 

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

When tagging faces I have a single person selected ("Ryan" in the attached screenshot). 

Ryan has 583 Unconfirmed faces to review. I want to only see the Unconfirmed photos in certain albums, so I have it set to Separate Items by Album. 

Ryan has 29374 confirmed faces, so I want to hide those while looking at the Unconfirmed ones. 

I open the Filter sidebar and go to check "Unconfirmed". Unconfirmed shows a "(0)" in the filter pane and clicking it does show 0 photos. 

OBSERVED RESULT

Clicking Unconfirmed in the filter sidebar hides all photos, including the Unconfirmed ones.

EXPECTED RESULT

Filter sidebar should show how many Unconfirmed photos there are. Activating the Unconfirmed filter should show only the Unconfirmed photos for the person.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Trying to use this workflow as a workaround to https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=487334 , building on the suggest in that bug from Maik. 

My preferred workflow would be to Separate Items by Faces, which shows all Unconfirmed faces at the top of the list, and then using a filter to only show those Unconfirmed faces from selected Albums & Subalbums.

It seems that Unconfirmed faces are considered to be confirmed for the purposes of the filter sidebar. 

The People tab shows "Ryan (29372) (581 new)"
The Fitler tab shows "Ryan (28724)" and filtering on "Ryan" while on the People -> Ryan page includes the Unconfirmed photos. 

In fact, going to the People -> Unconfirmed page, and filtering on People -> Unconfirmed shows 0 photos/people.

This issue has been reported before. The reason is that unknown, unconfirmed, etc. are only "virtual" tags and are not actually assigned to the image. Only real tags can be filtered.
