SUMMARY
system settings touchpad kcm can't find touchpad on plasma x11 - I have to use xinput to configure it.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. upgraded for fedora 40 to fedora 41
2. open system settings to turn off touchpad because I use a mouse.
3.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
It is a dell synaptic touchpad. xinput sees it but fn key combination no longer functions.

It is found in a Wayland session?

It is the same story with wayland .
It may be a fedora issue.

Have you by any chance forced the use of the old Synaptics touchpad driver, instead of the newer Libinput driver?

If so, this is expected, since we don't support the Synaptics driver anymore in Plasma 6.

If not, then it's most likely a Libinput bug, and should be reported at https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/libinput/libinput/-/issues/
