weirdly enough I tried running the unstable installer from the 20th of april and it launched so it must be a User Edition issue Possibly duplicate of 503435? (In reply to Lenzoid from comment #2) > Possibly duplicate of 503435? Yeah, I'd say so. Except this one is formatted better Can confirm this with a QEMU/KVM machine and with neon-user-20250501-1319.iso I assume this an issue in the Neon image, not an upstream issue in Calamares. (In reply to Lenzoid from comment #5) > Created attachment 180853 [details] > Screenshot Neon User in QEMU I can confirm that this issue is not confined to a VM, as it also flashes on real hardware *** Bug 503435 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Created attachment 180854 [details]
Proof this is not a VM exclusive issue
Wait, maybe you can copy the Unstable Edition installer as a short term solution? This seems related: https://invent.kde.org/system/kpmcore/-/issues/23 I can get the crash on bare metal only if I have a drive connected that is not partitioned. And a virtual drive in virt-manmager/qemu is unpartitioned. Created attachment 180901 [details]

Weird, I'm getting this despite all my drives being partitioned I manually ran fdisk on the virtual drive and that fixed it. (In reply to Nik Nikovsky from comment #13) > I manually ran fdisk on the virtual drive and that fixed it. Probably related: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=502141 (In reply to Clay Weber from comment #14) > (In reply to Nik Nikovsky from comment #13) > > I manually ran fdisk on the virtual drive and that fixed it. > > Probably related: > https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=502141 I'll try to launch the installer from the CLI and tell you Test the new current ISO image, which has the libkpmcore fixes and appears to have fixed this, and a crash in Partition Manager. (In reply to Clay Weber from comment #16) > Test the new current ISO image, which has the libkpmcore fixes and appears > to have fixed this, and a crash in Partition Manager. I'll get around to it In a few hours Just checked it, I think this has been fixed. |
