Managed to capture this "illusionary duplicate" issue.
Seems that the issue happens more often when I Extract+Delete a file with Ark. Now I dragged an invisible icon and Plasma became non-interactable I closed my notebook's lid to block and the system went back to normal. Illusory duplicate in Plasma 6.4.4 Rubberband selection issue on Plasma 6.4.4 |

Managed to capture this "illusionary duplicate" issue.
Step to reproduce:
Try to drag an item around the desktop.
Result:
Once in a blue moon an illusionary duplicate will appear, just like in this video.

Seems that the issue happens more often when I Extract+Delete a file with Ark.

Try to extract a slightly large file, be dragging the extracted file/folder around when it finishes, drop it, then drag it around again. Rubberband selection issue on Plasma 6.4.4
Seems like Plasma's desktop simply can't handle an item being dragged while the item itself is refreshed. Rubberband selection also glitches if it's being used when a file spawns on the desktop from a timed download. |
