SUMMARY
This is an AppImage running in a Debian 13 VM
Distributor ID: Debian
Description: Debian GNU/Linux trixie/sid
Release: n/a
Codename: trixie
Kernel: Linux 6.12.20-amd64 x86_64

I Can't get default theme to display white icons, only very dark gray icons that are barely visible.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. No combination of Breeze-Dark Global Theme, Application Style, Plasma Style or Icons works.
2. In Digikam, I have Wideget Style = Breeze, Icon Theme = Use Icon Theme from System

Can you try to reproduce using last AppImage 8.7.0 pre-release where Qt and KDE frameworks have been updated ?

Which AppImage are you using exactly, Qt5 or Qt6? We use Icon auto color from the KF6 framework. The icons automatically adapt to digiKam's color scheme. This only works in the Qt6 AppImage.
