can you add a screenshot of the dialog which opens after double-click, please. I have the feeling that this is a non-KDE dialog which might make the problem... Created attachment 179913 [details]

I see, thanks for your reply. There wasn't a dialog after double-click, the app just closes. But I opened the app through the terminal and made the double-click. I attached the screenshot of the terminal, does it help? Hmm ... no idea. Do you run kolourpaint from inside a GNOME session (seeing these gtk messages) ? E.g. what gives: echo $XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP Can you check if you can install a package which contains the color selection dialog (I think the dialog is different depending on the desktop you are using) I found a probably related discussion here https://discuss.kde.org/t/issues-in-the-new-kolourpaint-color-selector/27993/11 Maybe try setting the env var XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP="KDE" and run kolourpaint with this set.
