Description Atirut Wattanamongkol 2025-03-19 04:06:08 UTC
SUMMARY
The mouse KCM lists the built-in touchpad for configuration, but enabling "Invert scroll direction" does nothing.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open the mouse settings page
2. Enable "Invert scroll direction"
3. Apply
4. Touchpad scrolling is still not inverted.

OBSERVED RESULT
Scrolling is not inverted

EXPECTED RESULT
Scrolling should be inverted

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Fedora Linux 41
KDE Plasma Version: 6.3.3
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.12.0
Qt Version: 6.8.2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I'm actually not sure whether this is a bug or a UI/UX problem, because the option to invert scroll direction is also present in the touchpad KCM page. The option actually does work there, but not in the mouse KCM. There are a lot of other settings that are duplicated between the mouse and the touchpad KCM.

Touchpads are configured on the Touchpad page, not the Mouse page.

The fact that some touchpads appear on the Mouse page is a bug, and unfortunately a difficult one to resolve.

If it helps, the laptop product name is `HP Laptop 15s-fq2xxx` and the touchpad shows up as `ELAN0712:00 04F3:30FD Mouse`.
