Description ray 2025-03-09 13:58:10 UTC
With Plasma 6.3.2 changing color scheme (light to dark) stop working for GTK apps. Always when i switch to dark all GTK apps stay light. I've wait with report to release new KDE Gear (usually it solving some problems after new plasma version release) but it not help. There is still cursor problem for GTK, some apps have normal cursor some very big, some smaller.

Which GTK apps are affected specifically? Can you provide some examples?

Does this happen in a new clean user account?
Comment 3 ray 2025-03-11 22:57:51 UTC
All of them. No recall any not affected. Firefox, Transmission-remote, Quod libet. Surprisingly flatpack apps working fine and switching to dark mode.
Did'n test on clean account.

I've test on new clean account and same problem

This is working as expected for me on Fedora 41 with all KDE software built from master; GTK apps change color as expected.

I wonder if it could be a neon-specific packaging issue? Needs investigation.

Hi - I can't reproduce this on my Fedora KDE 41 devices - Firefox with the Automatic light/dark setting responds to the system color scheme appropriately.

On my KDE Neon VM, however, I can reproduce - changing to Breeze Dark doesn't get reflected in Firefox.

I'm moving this to the KDE Neon "product" in Bugzilla, since this appears to be something happening in how KDE / GTK components interact as packaged by Neon.

new 6.3.3 seems fixed color theme issue on my end

Sounds like this was ultimately the same issue as Bug 500938; marking as a duplicate!
