Created attachment 179244 [details] gdb trace SUMMARY for about a month now, plasmashell crashes often. it seems to happen (mostly) after unlocking the screen and interacting with items on the taskbar or closing notification widgets. the desktop is not set to sleep / hybernate but the screen is set to power off. the computer is on a UPS. sometimes the crashes happen at random times. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. set screen to lock after 10 mins and to power off after 30. 2. wait a long time 1-2 hours at least 3. unlock screen and click on items on the taskbar OBSERVED RESULT plasmashell crashes, all windows disappear, and plasmashell restarts EXPECTED RESULT plasmashell should not crash SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: KDE Plasma Version: KDE Frameworks Version: Qt Version: opensuse leap 15.6 Linux leo 6.4.0-150600.23.38-default #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Thu Feb 6 08:53:28 UTC 2025 (cb92f8c) x86_64 x86_64 i386-64-suse GNU/Linux xorg-x11-server-21.1.11-150600.5.6.1.x86_64 plasma5-workspace-5.27.11-bp156.3.3.1.x86_64 plasma-framework-components-5.115.0-bp156.1.2.x86_64 libQt5Core5-5.15.12+kde151-150600.3.6.1.x86_64 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION unfortunately opensuse leap 15.6 doesn't have the right debuginfo package, it only has version 5.27.11-bp156.2.2.x86_64
