SUMMARY

Krita 5.2.9 duplicates an export to save in the desired image format and another .kra file

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open any .kra document in Krita 5.2.9
2. Export... > any image format (JPG, PNG)
3. Krita will save in (let's say we use PNG) both *.png and *.png.kra

OBSERVED RESULT
Two files in *.[image_file_format] and *.[image_file_format].kra

EXPECTED RESULT
Just the *.[image_file_format]  file

That is an option "also save as .kra" in the file export dialog: it's an intentional feature to make this possible.

Yep, confirming it's the "also save as .kra" tickbox doing the trick. Guess I've been used to it being disabled by default when updating to new versions.
