SUMMARY
ELECOM DEFT PRO Trackball Mouse, Wired, Wireless, Bluetooth 3 Types Connection, Ergonomic Design, 8-Button Function, Red Ball, Windows11, MacOS (M-DPT1MRXBK) fails to pair, but it works.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Acquire an Elecom Deft Pro trackball mouse.
2. Insert provided USB bluetooth receiver into computer
3. Try to pair the device
4. Bluetooth page reports the pairing failed, yet the trackball mouse IS connected.

OBSERVED RESULT
Bluetooth page reports the pairing failed, yet the trackball mouse IS connected.


EXPECTED RESULT
Bluetooth page should have known the device and paired it.

Sorry for the noise.  This was operator error.  In my defense, the printed manual can't be read, even with a magnifying glass.  Today I zoomed in on the .pdf manual.  There is a switch to select Bluetooth or non-Bluetooth wireless operation.  I can now pair using Bluetooth.
