Strange that with Gnome, Ctrl_Q quits the entire application and windows get restored - familiar with Firefox users and very useful to differentiate between Alt_F4 (close Window) and Ctrl_Q (quit application). Based on some further dialogue on Discuss (from here forward: https://discuss.kde.org/t/ask-the-user-whether-they-want-to-quit-instead-of-close-the-window/28096/27 ), perhaps the main benefit here could be accomplished by taking however Dolphin restores a closed window when you "re-launch" it externally, using Super+E or from the Task Manager icon, and exposing that via an "Undo close window" menu item? I can see the value of this feature. I use the described functionality in Firefox regularly (where re-opening a window closed with X or Ctrl+Shift+W can be restored with Ctrl+Shift+N. This restores all tabs that window had open. |
