SUMMARY


STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. unplug the laptop
2. discharge the battery to 49%
3. energy saving should start at 5% of battery capacity

OBSERVED RESULT
internal screen is switched off (or the backlight is switched off), a connected external screen stays on an I can work on this screen normally. without external screen the laptop screen goes off and I can't work

EXPECTED RESULT
internal screen stays on.

This may actually be firmware-controlled power management rather than anything we're doing in KDE code. Can you check in your laptop's BIOS to see if it has anything related to this issue that might be enabled?

I did not find any bios settings allowing to control screen power.

I'm sorry we weren't able to dig into this yet. Can you check and see if it's still an issue in Plasma 6.3.5 or later, and also presumably with newer system packages including newer versions of the packages for the power management stack?
