The rectangular artifact as disappears when a window is touching the panel. Without looking at the code, I would guess that it has something to do with translucency.

I suspect a GPU driver glitch here. Never been able to reproduce it myself with an Intel HD620 iGPU or Radeon 780M iGPU.

It very well could be a GPU driver; however, I played around with some different display configurations and it seems as though the issue is only present with display scaling set at 150%. Is the issue reproducible with display scaling set at 150%?

I use an AMD GPU now, but no, I can't experience the issue with any scale factor.

Since then, I've seen this from time to time, but unfortunately never managed to figure out a pattern.

However I haven't seen in in a month or two on git master with Fedora 42; perhaps it's fixed now. Let's call it fixed until someone can reproduce it in Plasma 6.4 or later.

Understood. Unfortunately, it persists on my system. I'll have a look to see what kind of support I can drum up on socials and forums. If I receive anything substantial, I'll chime back in. :)
