The global menu is empty for GTK3 apps and the menu is shown in the app. With gtk2 it works instead (e.g. GIMP) I installed appmenu-gtk-module and also xdg-desktop-portal-gtk

Verified this on git-master with Libre Office Writer, Firefox and Rhythmbox
