Can reproduce. Can confirm that this is still an issue. It definitely takes attention away from the art work at hand, sort of like having to constantly swat a fly out of the way. Only with this, you have to tap on the app preview pop-up to make it go away. This may still be a problem with other pop-ups, too; not just icons only task manager.
