Hi, it seems you forgot to attach the gif. Moving to kwin for further investigation. Since my attachment is bigger than the limit I will upload a link with the GIF as a comment. Yeah I noticed it my self, I didnt see the 4MB limit thats why my attachment didnt upload. Already left a comment with a link. GIF showing the visual glitch: https://jumpshare.com/s/oIDjwey9ud3NQTU3QMCD Cannot reproduce with current git master. Do you have an NVIDIA GPU? Does it reproduce with only one screen too? (In reply to Nate Graham from comment #4) > Cannot reproduce with current git master. Do you have an NVIDIA GPU? Does it > reproduce with only one screen too? HARDWARE: GPU: AMD RX 6700 XT 12GB CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5700X 8-Core RAM: 16GB It happens with one screen too. Could you provide a screenshot or a video link that doesn't 404 by now? Do the glitches look similar to bug 491738 maybe? (In reply to Zamundaaa from comment #6) > Could you provide a screenshot or a video link that doesn't 404 by now? Do > the glitches look similar to bug 491738 maybe? Here is a new link. https://jumpshare.com/v/Q5discFFGSn6V54CwoPr?b=S49jJcmD6hxHXRLPLEVT I think this time it wont get removed/deleted after some time. My glitch looks similar to bug 491738 but in my case it happens on inactive windows. ๐๐งน โ ๏ธ This bug has been in NEEDSINFO status with no change for at least 15 days. Okay, that looks familiar - I've seen it happen recently on my laptop as well. Just trying to debug it, it went away immediately though. How often does it happen for you? (In reply to Zamundaaa from comment #9) > Okay, that looks familiar - I've seen it happen recently on my laptop as > well. Just trying to debug it, it went away immediately though. > How often does it happen for you? In my case it happens everyday. Its part of my life now hah. It starts happening some time after booting the OS and wont go away without restarting or re-loging. I dont know if there are specific triggers but will try and monitor and see if I can find anything. Is Bug 491827 the same thing? Also Bug 486280. (In reply to Nate Graham from comment #11) > Is Bug 491827 the same thing? Bug 491827 is close to mine. Mine does the same "window acting like Ms Paint eraser" effect but its usually a glitched out window instead of a black background. (In reply to Nate Graham from comment #12) > Also Bug 486280. Bug 486280 doesn't look like something I encountered. Does this still happen if you put KWIN_USE_BUFFER_AGE=0 into /etc/environment and reboot? (In reply to Zamundaaa from comment #15) > Does this still happen if you put KWIN_USE_BUFFER_AGE=0 into > /etc/environment and reboot? Nothing's changed. But I think I found out that it happens after the screen turns off. I am not sure if it is specifically caused by this but twice now it started happening after the screen turned off and I turned it back on by mouse or key. |
