Does it fail to input characters until the monitor turns on? Does this system have only one monitor, or more than one? (In reply to Nate Graham from comment #1) > Does it fail to input characters until the monitor turns on? > yes > Does this system have only one monitor, or more than one? only one monitor Thanks. *** Bug 488827 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** (In reply to Nate Graham from comment #4) > *** Bug 488827 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** At least Bug 488827 is fully resolved, so I think bug #488516 should be closed as well. Can anyone confirm and close? Operating System: Arch Linux KDE Plasma Version: 6.1.1 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.3.0 Qt Version: 6.7.2 Kernel Version: 6.6.36-1-lts (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland Processors: 8 × AMD Ryzen 7 3700U with Radeon Vega Mobile Gfx Memory: 13,6 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: AMD Radeon Vega 10 Graphics Manufacturer: Acer Product Name: Aspire A315-42 System Version: V1.11 today 2024/07/5 with Operating System: openSUSE Tumbleweed 20240703 KDE Plasma Version: 6.1.1 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.3.0 Qt Version: 6.7.2 Kernel Version: 6.9.7-1-default (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland I have just encountered the problem. The problem is not solved. No problem with X11 but problem with wayland. I'm able to replicate this on git-master with a laptop and its display 1. Lock the screen 2. Wait for the display to go to sleep (session is set to go to sleep much later0 3. Start typing The first character I typed was not in the password field Problem still there Operating System: openSUSE Tumbleweed 20250301 KDE Plasma Version: 6.3.2 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.11.0 Qt Version: 6.8.2 Kernel Version: 6.13.4-1-default (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland Processors: 8 × 12th Gen Intel® Core™ i3-12100 Memory: 15.3 Gio of RAM Graphics Processor 1: Mesa Intel® UHD Graphics 730 Graphics Processor 2: llvmpipe Manufacturer: ASRock Product Name: B760M-HDV/M.2 D4 Looks like this bug was introduced here in KWin https://invent.kde.org/plasma/kwin/-/commit/57b11f84296b69944b907a89d403dc50d36a75dc Did you try Plasma 6.4(.1)? For me the situation improved considerably, albeit in a multi-monitor setup. I'm running 6.4.1 and it's definitely still there. As stated above, I believe it to be an intentional behavior, though it's inconsistent with kwin_x11 and IS a regression when moving to Wayland This might be a duplicate of https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=506565 but I'm not 100% sure. *** Bug 506565 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** |
