Version: (using KDE Devel)
Installed from: Compiled sources

The Crystal splash screen status icons have next to nothing to do with what's going on. A globe to represent peripherals? A folder to represent the panel? Seems quite random to me.

Here are a few suggestions for alternatives:
1) "devices/nfs_unmount" for "Setting up interprocess communication"
2) "devices/mouse" for "Peripherals"
3) "apps/window_list" for "Loading the window manager"
4) "filesystems/desktop" for "Loading the desktop"

I'm stuck when it comes to alternatives to the panel and system services
