I can also not reproduce it always, it seems to happen randomly but most times at the first try. Only a re-login or pulling another icon back on the panel resolves it for me. Drag the Widget onto the panel OBSERVED RESULT There's a selection region visible on the desktop, which does not vanish. Please see the screenshot.
