Have you created these desktop files manually? If so, did you remember to run `kbuildsycoca6` afterwards? No I didn't create them. I just install the apps via pacman Do you have the kde-inotify-survey package installed? If not, can you install it, reboot, install an app, and see if it shows a system notification telling you you're low on inotify watches or instances? If it does, that's the problem.
