The question is, are the tags in the images? Maybe in a sidecar? As of digiKam-8.x.x, sidecars are only read by commercial programs if the corresponding option is activated in the digiKam metadata settings for sidecars. It's best to upload a sample image that should contain tags. Maik Created attachment 162409 [details] image.png Hi, Thanks for your very quick reply. I'm no expert by any means, but using windows explorer, it shows the info is contained within the image file as below: [image: image.png] Regards, Graham On Wed, 18 Oct 2023 at 20:10, Maik Qualmann <bugzilla_noreply@kde.org> wrote: > https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=475807 > > Maik Qualmann <metzpinguin@gmail.com> changed: > > What |Removed |Added > > ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- > CC| |metzpinguin@gmail.com > > --- Comment #1 from Maik Qualmann <metzpinguin@gmail.com> --- > The question is, are the tags in the images? Please also look in the digiKam metadata viewer in the right sidebar to see whether you can find the tag entries. And where they are stored. There are many places in images where tags can be written. Also re-read the metadata from the image to the database in which you miss tags, e.g. via the Menu-Item. Do the tags appear now? Maik Created attachment 162422 [details] attachment-370266-0.html Hi, The keywords do appear in the metadate sidebar under the IPTC tab. Yes the tags do appear after a reread as you suggest. How can I get them to display automatically (ie. without doing a reread)? Many thanks for your help. Go to Setup/metadata and turn on the last option on the bottom from the Behavior view: https://docs.digikam.org/en/setup_application/metadata_settings.html#behavior-settings Gilles Caulier Created attachment 162423 [details] attachment-374558-0.html Thank you so much. I absolutely love this program and have been using it for a couple of years. Originally it was quite flakey in Windows, but now it seems pretty stable. The Timeline function and Calendar are very useful and don't exist in any of the other programs I use.
