This seems to be odly specific. When steam is opened, and the computer goes asleep, all is well. When the computer wakes up, Steam is still running but its GUI is mainly solid black, and only a few components are displayed when hovering the mouse above. This sound like a Steam problem, however when clicking anywhere on the black area, the entire desktop environment crashes, and restarts automatically.

This doesn't seem to happen on any other of my installed apps.

The crash can be reproduced every time.
