SUMMARY

While deleting a file in Dolphin (with shift+delete) or emptying the trash, a confirmation popup appears but with no sound. System sounds work as expected outside of Dolphin (checked with Kate).

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1a. Select a file/folder to delete
2a. Shift+Delete to permanently delete
1b. Select the waste bin
2b. Empty the waste bin

OBSERVED RESULT
Confirmation popup appears with no sound

I was also able to reproduce this with version 23.04.1 of Dolphin on Plasma 5.27.5. Using an older version of Dolphin (22.12.3) plays the sound as per normal. A quick glance at Dolphin's commits don't appear to reveal anything that could be causing the issue.
This seems to be related to bug 456765, however I haven't had any problems with systems sounds in Dolphin until 23.04.0.

And as everyone else has said, all other system sounds in other applications act as per normal.

Probably the same root cause as 456765. None of the sound notifications for deleting files seem to be working so I'll mark this as duplicate and change the title of the other bug report to "Dolphin Wastebin Sound notifications not working", because the problem is not only on the sidebar but on the desktop as well.
