SUMMARY

I've been using the Appimage for a long time without any issue, Since Fedora 38 upgrade, I can't drag and drop anything to the timeline, no clips or effects.

Note:  the Flatpak version is working fine on the same system.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open the app
2. Import media
3. Drag files or effects to the timeline

OBSERVED RESULT

The cursor get a Red Cross Out Circle.

EXPECTED RESULT

Drag files and Effects to the timeline

SOFTWARE and OS

Software: Kdenlive Appimage Version 23.04.0
OS: Fedora Workstation 38
Compositor: Wayland

I'm having the same issue on the same environment, using either the 23.04.01 version or the latest AppImage nightly build

Im having the same issue

Using Ubuntu 23.04 on X11

The latest version from the package manager in ubuntu (Installed via snap)

Happy to provide more info if needed, Just thought Id put some more activity on this bug

Can you test the following. Select a clip in the project bin. Hit “v”. This should insert the clip into the timeline.

Yes, Pressing V does insert clips onto the timeline.

I've also noticed I cannot drag an effect onto a video clip in the timeline either

I can confirm what Ryan said, and I had problems with Flatpak version as usual, so I'm on DaVinci Resolve for now.
I have to say the AppImage version should have higher priority, as it's the best way to use the app from my experience.
