This crash is already fixed, the question is how old is the dep or appimage version?

Fixed about a month ago.

I suspect Kaj is using an old Beta1 AppImage and not one from files.kde.org/digikam/unstable.

KF5::Sonnet SpellChecker has nothing to do with your system language. Please look in the Help Dialog and About under give us the displayed date and GIT version string.

I'm sure Debian used a codebase before we fixed this issue.
Can you reproduce the problem with the current AppImage?
