SUMMARY

I use the Android app Aves (https://github.com/deckerst/aves) as my gallery, synced via syncthing to my pc. Aves can tag videos and stores the tags as shown in attachment 1 [details]. The problem is that these tags don't show up as captions in digiKam. I even tried adding the Xmp.dc.subject namespace for captions under "Configure digiKam → Metadata → Advanced", but that didn't work (detailed settings in attachment 2 [details])

XMP metadata in video files is only read with digiKam-8.0.0 because we use a combined FFmpeg and ExifTool metadata parser.
