*** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 425974 *** This bug is about the default level being set as 0% which makes audio notifications inaudible in new installations. This is not what https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=425974 is about. Weird, seems like the opposite problem from what's reported in Bug 425974. In that bug, it's 0% but plays anyway. In this one, it's 0% but doesn't play. So it seems like right now for you, the setting is being honored, but the setting's initial value is bad. Yes exactly. I have been testing lots of new Mageia 9 installations (which has just gone into version freeze). Always as installed we have no sound notifications and the setting is always 0%. Increasing it fixes the problem. This is bad for new users who will probably never realize that the sounds even exist unless they go poking through sytemsettings, which many will never do. *** Bug 487119 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Bug in pulseaudio I suppose. We don't initialize the notification stream so we have no control over its initial volume. |
