STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. In Kickoff, add an app to Favorites.
2. In Favorites, right click on that app, Edit.
3. Do some edit, e.g., add an environment variable.
4. Close the dialog.
5. Click on that app.

OBSERVED RESULT
Nothing happens.

EXPECTED RESULT
The app launches.

I guess this is due to editing an app creates a new .desktop file in ~/.local/share/applications, while Favorites still points to the old location?

Confirmed. Only happens on newly favourited apps. The defaults can be edited without any issues.

Can reproduce. Restarting plasmashell makes the issue stop happening.

Still an issue on Plasma 6.

This is fixed in Plasma 6.3.0 with the change to use KMenuEdit instead of the properties dialog.
