OBSERVED RESULT

In Kid3 I noticed that sometimes it looks that no spacing was used. This happens with me mostly after items with a period. 

For example "David Guetta ft.Jamie Scott" is what I see in Kid3 (Name of file and also in the Artist Tag), but in MacOS Finder, it just shows "David Guetta ft. Jamie Scott".

This happened with hundreds of songs. I only realized this after editing some of these songs in Kid3, adding a space, which showed in Finder as 2 spaces.

Probably using https://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/kid3/kid3-3.9.3-Darwin-Qt6-Mojave.dmg instead of kid3-3.9.3-Darwin.dmg will solve the problem, see bug 432578.

I tried this on my MacbookPro with Monterey 12.6.2 before installing a second version on my DJ laptop with Ventura.

The QT6 version you suggested gives another bug: when you click in the preferences on the "all tags" tab, and then click "add" to add a new string replacement, the software shuts down immediately. 

I tried this action (preferences --> all tags --> add (new string replacement)) 10 times and the program quits immediately every single time I click "add". 

I assume this bug will also be in Ventura, not only in Monterey, so I prefer not to switch programs for now, as I need the text replacements.

I also wonder if the bug in kid3-3.9.3-Darwin.dmg can be fixed? Or is it not recommended to use for Ventura? As I said I prefer instead of kid3-3.9.3-Darwin.dmg over the q 6 as the latter seems to come with a whole other series of bugs.

The actual space bug is a bug of Qt, and unfortunately, they want us to use Qt 6 and thus will not fix it in Qt 5. That's why I created a version with Qt 6. Thanks for reporting the bug with the crash when adding a new item, I did not know this, probably I should start using a Qt 6 version for my daily work. I have now fixed it, you can get https://sourceforge.net/projects/kid3/files/kid3/development/kid3-git20230204-Darwin-Qt6-Mojave.dmg. If you find any bugs with this version, please report them.
