SUMMARY
Plasma freezes and does not allow key input.  This happens intermittently and leaves no dump or errors in logs.


OBSERVED RESULT
Plasma window manager freezes. 

EXPECTED RESULT
Plasma window manager should not freeze

This has nothing to do with the OS or KDE but the hardware as it effects all OS's due to it being an SSD (perhaps RAM issue however i doubt that) issue.  Some reports have  indicated that the SSD drive needs to be reseated.  I did just that and also replaced all thermal glue and pads with new ones.  The laptop is a Huawell X Pro 2019 which doesnt have a very good cooling system hence why i replaced all thermal pads and glue with Artic APT2560 0.5 mm piece.  It has not frozen since.
