I forgot to say that this is with X11. Just to add that this problem does not always happen, it is not 100% reproducible. I would say something like 50% on average. It is not clear to me in which circumstances it happens. When you say "there is no greeter", is the screen blank?" Or do you see the blurred wallpaper, but with no unlocking UI? Or something else? Can you attach a photograph of what it looks like when it's in this state? Thanks! Hi Nate, from what I remember, there was the wallpaper but no UI to unlock. I will try to reproduce and post a picture next time I go to my office. Nowadays I am on Wayland and I do not see this problem anymore. In that case the bug was in KScreenLocker, not KScreen.
