Hmm, interesting use case. I have perhaps a counter-proposal: how about we add an option for the "manually block sleep and screen locking" feature to let it time out after some period of time. We already have this for notifications' Do Not Disturb mode, so I think it would be quite natural. What do you think? If I still can lock the screen, and maybe the timeout is configurable, this would be a good alternative, yes. One can already inhibit auto-sleep certain tasks:"kde-inhibit --power some-long-task-here" Cool, yeah. Dear Bug Submitter, This bug has been in NEEDSINFO status with no change for at least 15 days. For more information about our bug triaging procedures please read the wiki located here: https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Bug_triaging Thank you for helping us make KDE software even better for everyone! I believe it's a reasonable request, and could be easily implemented (copy-pasted) from Notifications. We also need a new icon: a system-suspend.svg crossed with a red line, which is like notifications-disabled.svg for Notifications applet. |
