Description frederic.parrenin@univ-grenoble-alpes.fr 2022-07-18 12:21:13 UTC
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Go to KDE Settings>Workspace behavior>Destkop effects>Accessibility>Select "Magnifying Glass" instead of "Zoom"
2. Click on "Apply"
3. Hit CTRL-= to activate the magnifying glass

OBSERVED RESULT
No effect

EXPECTED RESULT
It is not possible to activate the magnifying glass.
Actually, a restart of KDE is needed.
It would be good to make it possible without a restart, or at least to specify that a restart is needed.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Debian 12 Bookworm
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.24.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.94.0
Qt Version: 5.15.4

Actually, I find it a bit disappointing that you cannot switch easily between "zoom" and "magnifying glass", with a simple keyboard shortcut or an applet.

Or you could use "zoom" and "magnifying glass" in parallel with two different sets of keyboard shortcuts.

Can confirm on openSUSE TW.
