Run digiKam from a console into GDB as explained here : https://www.digikam.org/contribute/ ... and report back-trace here. Gilles Caulier Ubuntu Packages mean Snap Package? Snap packages use a sandbox and are unusable for using digiKam. Use our AppImage on Ubuntu. Maik My Digikam (7.6.0) is ran from flatpak (in Kubuntu 21.10). When I follow the advice, i.e. in terminal, run the following: 1 export QT_LOGGING_RULES="digikam*=true" 2 digikam (see https://www.digikam.org/contribute/) ... I get, after having entered line 1, and typed "digikam", the message that there is no digikam and that I should or could install Digikam using snap or whatever. But it is not possible to start digikam from the terminal. Even when I start digikam in terminal as "flatpak run digikam", I get an error. I do not know how to run Flatpak digikam in terminal, as I find no information on the sentence to use. Flatpak are also useless and use a sandbox. Other projects (Kate) have already canceled Flatpak. We also do not provide the flatpaks. Please test it with our AppImage. Maik Jens, Any feedback here following recommendations from Mail ? Gilles Caulier Jens, any feedback here ? Can you try with current 8.0.0 pre-release AppImage bundle available here : https://files.kde.org/digikam/ Gilles Caulier @jens.verwaerde@gmail.com digiKam 8.0.0 is released. This file still valid ? Gilles Caulier Jens, What's about this file using current 8.2.0 AppImage Linux bundle ? Thanks in advance Gilles Caulier Hi, digiKam 8.5.0. is out with many fixes and improvements. https://www.digikam.org/news/2024-11-16-8.5.0_release_announcement/ This report still valid with this version? Thanks in advance Gilles Caulier Hi, digiKam 8.6.0 is just released: https://www.digikam.org/news/2025-03-15-8.6.0_release_announcement/ Problem still exists with this version? Thanks in advance Gilles Caulier Jens, any feedback here ? This issue is relevant to the Flatpak configuration about application access rights. Please look at the digikam.org warning : https://www.digikam.org/download/binary/#linux-sandbox The documentation about the Flatpak permissions can be read here : https://docs.flatpak.org/en/latest/sandbox-permissions.html You can also report the problem as an UPSTREAM bug to the Flathub team : https://github.com/flathub/org.kde.digikam/issues Alternative : uses the Linux AppImage bundle that we provide : https://www.digikam.org/download/ |
