STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open system settings, power management, Energy saving
2.

OBSERVED RESULT
No laptop lid events available

EXPECTED RESULT
Laptop Lid Close event available

After full shutdown, in order to clean laptop fans, and restart, the option is back. Will advise if it disappears again.

I don't have the option even after a full shutdown. I'm on a XPS carbon 6th gen, ubuntu devel: plasma 5.24.3, kde framework 5.91.0, qt 5.15.2, X11

solved: the problem was that upower service was somehow 'disabled', not starting by default

after starting upower the option reappeared
