Oh this is one of the known Wayland QMenu positioning bugs. There are a bunch and I don't know which are still valid though... Is there a better Product / Component combination I can use so somebody can more easily find the original bug report? (In reply to Marco Parillo from comment #6) > Is there a better Product / Component combination I can use so somebody can > more easily find the original bug report? This seems to be the upstream bug report: https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTBUG-88561 Moving the relative positions of the screens in System Settings so that they were aligned at the top instead of at the bottom "fixed" the problem for me, if only as a workaround. I believe this problem may have resolved itself with: Operating System: Arch Linux KDE Plasma Version: 5.24.90 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.94.0 Qt Version: 5.15.4 Kernel Version: 5.17.9-arch1-1 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland Processors: 4 × Intel® Core™ i7 CPU M 620 @ 2.67GHz Memory: 7.6 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: Mesa Intel® HD Graphics Manufacturer: Hewlett-Packard Product Name: HP EliteBook 8440p Great! I am sorry, but either as part of an update, or maybe I actually tried aligning the tops of my two monitors. Either way, I checked my Display Settings, and the two monitors were aligned at the top. So, the good news is that the work-around does work. Bad new is that if I align two different sized monitors at the bottom, then the "floating" menus return. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 395179 *** |
