I think this is difficult to achieve as it would mean that we maintain Kdenlive project file type versions. In other words when you create a video in the latest Kdenlive version and you save the project, Kdenlive is asking you if you like to store it in an older version. That implies that some new functions you have used are removed in the project file. On the other hand, we suggest to stay with the same Kdenlive version while you edit a project. So in your case I would do the following: add in the project file the Kdenlive version like “this is my project_24.08.2.kdenlive”. If you ever have to edit this project again you can download from the https://download.kde.org/Attic/kdenlive/ either the AppImage (Linux) or the Standalone version (Windows) and edit that project without installing Kdenlive again.
