SUMMARY
If you set the panel to auto hide, it's impossible to switch to a launcher alternative.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Set the panel to automatically hide
2. right-click the launcher icon (Kicker/Kickoff)
3. Select "Show alternatives"

OBSERVED RESULT
The alternatives selection vanishes with the panel. It's impossible to see or select anything.

EXPECTED RESULT
The alternatives selection should be visible until the user selects an alternative or dismisses the selection.

I am also seeing this.. 
I also just tested on Wayland and the "right click" does not work at all on the Launcher Icon.
